Updated Submit Kit
Just wanted to let all you RedisWhite artists out there know that we've updated the Submit Kit. You can find it on the top of the POST page (it's a big, pink button—you can't miss it).
Inside the kit is our full list of Apparel Colors for Gals and Guys. Use the handy color codes (PMS, RGB, HEX, CMYK) when designing and displaying your artwork. We also updated the Gals shirt template (we upgraded to longer Gals tees). You can also find our maximum print size, so keep that in mind as you design.
Be sure to read through the Manifesto and Details pages to get a good feel for what we are and aren't looking for in a design. Beyond that, if you have any questions, post 'em here and I'll get you some answers. Now get to work!

TALK — blah, blah
why is the template so small? how do i design on such a small surface or should i use a new file and then after designing frame it on the shirt for visual purposes? the template measures roughly 8x6 inches but on screen it comes up as 72 dpi so visually it looks like 3x2 inches. quite small. I have Photoshop 7.0 (old i know). Do i need to get a newer version or something?

i think you can do the design at seperate file (off course at high res), then use template as frame.

thanks radiomode. how exactly do you do it... and how many dpi is high res? i'm slightly a novice as you can tell.

it's great to finally have the tee colors but how do we know which colors we can use for the print? or is it an unlimited palette and you just can't use more than 4 or 5 on one shirt?

@cddude - Yes, radiomode has the right idea, your original design should be the size you want it to be on the shirt (probably around 14" x 14") and high resolution (300dpi if you're using a program like Photoshop).
Once your artwork is complete, transfer it to the template, which is the correct size for submitting to RedisWhite. Happy Creating!
