"God of the gaps" explains God's activities in simplistic ways. We can’t use the fact that science has been able to duplicate some phenomena attributable to God as an excuse to eliminate God, especially as we find nature to be more and more complex
RiW says...
We are so intrigued by this design and the thoughts behind it - God seems more necessary now than ever before.

Lovely design and nice colors. BUT the term "deux ex machina" has usually been used by pundits against those who have faith. "God out of a machine" is seemingly ridiculous to them, so this shirt actually stating faith (in any deity) is illogical. Just my $ .02.

radiomode had a great explanation/reason for his design when it was in the rate phase (someone brought up your exact point)...maybe we'll have to re-post it...

"God of the gaps" refers to the perception that all arguments for the existence of God are the result of gaps in our scientific knowledge. God of the gaps only gives God credit for portions of creation, the parts we don't understand through science yet. And to those who believe this way, the 'gaps' are getting smaller each year. This is actually saying that God was unable to create a universe that ran on it's own, since He's only the creator of the gaps. To the believer, God doesn't live in gaps. He created it all. I agree with almondroca, the whole God out of a machine thing just points away from the total perfect creation awe of God. To me, the shirt looks like it's pointing to cloning. A machine can make the deer.

I got this t-shirt today. I don't know, maybe it is my monitor, but the color really pops beautifully on the real tee. Props to you guys!

The "Deus ex Machina" in early greek/roman theatre was the character/narrator that descended at the end of the play to wrap up the story. Usually "flown" onto the set this is the "god" descending. Coming to us to give meaning. This is the history I brought to the shirt when I saw it.
